Bon Jovi Burglar Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison

Nicholas Tracy, 22, robbed three homes in the Navesink River Road area.

The Beachwood man who robbed Jon Bon Jovi’s Middletown home received a five-year prison sentence Friday.

Nicholas Tracy, 22, burglarized three homes in the Navesink River Road area on March 14, April 1 and April 3, 2011, according to a press release issued by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. Tracy stole jewelry and other items valued at over $300,000 from the homes, prosecutors said.

Tracy was arrested on April 13, 2011 after Middletown Township police responded to another burglary and discovered him in the home. Further investigation led to the discovery of some of the stolen property, according to the press release.

Tracy pleaded guilty before Judge Ronald L. Reisner on Sept. 4, 2012 to three second-degree theft charges and a third-degree burglary charge.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Sean J. Brennan. Tracy was represented by James Gerrow, Jr. of Hainesport.

My goodness, he's 22 years old. I have to assume it was more for an addiction than a need to eat. I hope they place hiim in a rehab center, if it is drugs, rather than prison. A 5 year stretch with job skill development comes to mind. We have to make an honest attempt turning these kids around.

He was breaking into homes and stealing. There is no excuse. Drugs are a choice, alcohol is a choice, breaking into the home of an innocent person and stealing is a CHOICE. He deserves every day of that jail sentence and will probably go right back to doing what he does best when he gets out and hopefully the throw him right back in for even longer. The world needs to stop giving people excuses.

My sisters house was broken into in Hazlet by a neighbors granddaughter and her boyfriend. They stole items and pawned them. They got caught. went before this same Judge and, because the girls father is a cop, got probation. The items were lost. Now she gets restitution checks of about $22.00 per month. At this rate in 85 years this should be over. Must be nice to be a celeb. At least your guy goes to jail.
