The reason for the delay in reporting and or arrest was not immediately clear, though police charged Fuentes with the crimes following a forensic interview and criminal investigation.

Fuentes was ordered held at Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $200,000 bail with no 10 percent option and was ordered to have no contact with the victims and family and to not return to the scene.
