Borough Man Charged with Assault, Making Terroristic Threats

A Westside Avenue man was charged with multiple counts stemming from a domestic incident investigation.

A Red Bank man has been charged with multiple crimes after police said he choked his female victim and threatened to kill her.

Following a domestic incident investigation, police said Luis Valdentano, 19, grabbed his unidentified victim with a "one-handed choke hold" and refused to let her go, threatening to kill her if she attempted to see other people. The victim told authorities the incident took place at around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday evening.

According to , the victim said Valdentano grabbed her around the neck and told her: "I won't let you seen anybody else, I'll kill you before that happens."

Valdentano, a resident of the first block of W. Westside Avenue, was charged with simple assault and making a terroristic threat. He was jailed at Monmouth County Correctional Institution following a court hearing Wednesday morning pending payment of $22,500 bail with no 10 percent option.

Valdentano has also been ordered to have no contact with the victim.
