Bus Carrying Red Bank Catholic Students Crashes

No children hurt in accident.

A school bus transporting local Catholic school students collided with another vehicle around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday on Everett Road, near American Way, in Holmdel, police said. The bus then went off the road.

The bus was transporting students from Red Bank Catholic.

According to the police report, the school bus driver, Johnnie Golden, 59, of Keansburg, was taken to Bayshore Hospital by the Holmdel First Aid Squad and Monoc Paramedics with minor injuries. The driver of the other car, Joanne Fanzini, 41, of Holmdel, refused medical attention at the accident scene. No children were hurt in the accident, police said.

The Helfrich school bus was transporting children home from St. Leo’s School in Lincroft as well as Red Bank Catholic High School in Red Bank, police said.

Middletown Twp. Police responded to the accident to assist with traffic.
