Cops: Fair Haven Shop Owner Robbed at Gunpoint

Blue Stove Antiques was allegedly robbed at gunpoint.

The is investigating an armed robbery which took place this morning at 769 River Road, Blue Stove Antiques, just a short walk from Red Bank. 

At 9:21 a.m., a disguised subject entered the store and confronted the owner with a handgun, demanding he open the safe, police said. Once the safe was opened, the suspect emptied the contents into a gym bag and fled the scene, according to police.

The suspect — described as a white male with an average build, 40 to 50 years old, standing approximatelty 5 feet, 10 inches tall and wearing a black jacket and dark pants — fled the scene with mostly jewelry and watches, police added.

He was armed with a stainless steel revolver and was carrying a handheld scanner or radio, police said. 

Operating a white compact vehicle, possibly a Nissan, with a vertical hatchback, bearing an out of state license plate, the suspect was last seen heading eastbound on River Road, according to police.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Fair Haven Police Department at 732-747-0991. Sgt. Robert Townshend and Patrolman Stephen Schneider were the initial responding officers. 

Detective Sgt. Jesse Dykstra is continuing the investigation.
