Police: Imitation Rifle Pointed at Restaurant Customers

A borough man allegedly targeted customers of Siena Grille with a fake gun.

A Red Bank man was indicted in Monmouth County Superior Court Tuesday morning on charges he allegedly pointed an imitation rifle at customers entering and leaving on Shrewsbury Avenue.

According to police, Luis Garcia, 38, was observed pointing an imitation gun at a random assortment of the restaurant’s customers Sunday afternoon. A concerned witness, believing Garcia had a real weapon, flagged down an officer in patrol in the area.

Upon immediate investigation, police found Garcia in possession of the imitation rifle. The Shrewsbury Avenue resident also admitted to pointing at random customers of the restaurant. It was not clear if the imitation rifle was a toy or something more authentic looking.
