Indictment for Near-Decade Old Alleged Child Sex Assault

A Matawan man was indicted on charges he sexually assaulted a child in Red Bank, Middletown, Keansburg, and Union Beach.

A Monmouth County Grand Jury recently indicted Thomas Dressler, Sr. on charges he sexually assaulted a 9 year old over the period of several months in 2003, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office announced.

Dressler, 54, of the 300 Block of Main Street in Matawan, was indicted on three counts, Aggravated Sexual Assault and Sexual Assault, a first and second degree crime, respectively, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a second degree offense, after the grand jury found he assaulted a child, identified only as "K.D." in court documents, from June to October of 2003.

According to the indictment, Dressler assaulted K.D. in or about Red Bank, Middletown, Keansburg and Union Beach by committing the act of sexual penetration with a child less than 13 years old.

The child endangerment indictment comes from the victim being under the legal care and responsibility of Dressler during the period of the alleged aggravated sexual assault.
