Man Who Allegedly Attacked Police at Train Station to Appear in Court

Patrick M. Farrell was reportedly removed from Char after police investigated a report of violent conduct.

A man who was removed from Char in Red Bank earlier in the week for alleged violent conduct followed by an alleged attack on the police investigating the incident is due to appear in court today, Friday.

Patrick M. Farrell, 32, of 2114 Foster Rd., Point Pleasant, was arrested on Dec. 9 and charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and assault on an officer after becoming aggressive toward a uniformed police officer, the complaint warrant said.

After being removed from Char, Farrell was transported by police, who were called to investigate his alleged violent conduct, to the Red Bank Train Station where he allegedly used physical force against an officer, the complaint added.

He then allegedly resisted arrest by refusing to sit in the rear of a patrol car while handcuffed to the point where he had to be physically wrestled into the seat and then had to be physically removed once transported to the police station, it added.

Farrell was held on $12,500 bail, with no 10 percent option, set by Judge William Himelman.
