Missing 3-Year-Old Quickly Found in Shrewsbury

The missing child was among incidents listed in the Shrewbury Police Department's blotter for last week.

Shrewsbury Police reported a missing child, two motor vehicle accidents and credit card fraud in the borough last week, according to its police blotter.

A three-year-old was reported missing and then quickly found on Feb. 14. The child had been playing outside of a Garden Road home. A search, which was joined by Little Silver Police officers, was conducted and the child was located with no injuries. Investigated by Ptl. Boyd.

Two motor vehicle accidents led to one hospitalization last week.

  • On Feb. 11, a vehicle hit a utility pole in the area of Route 35 and Silverbrook Road, downing the pole and wires. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transferred to Riverview Medical Center. The accident remains under investigation by Ptl. Adam Cerminaro.
  • Another incident of downed wires occurred following a vehicle accident on Feb. 12 on Newman Springs Road. Ptl. Ryan Cullinane is investigating the accident.

A Union City woman reported on Feb. 12 that her credit card had allegedly been used to make unauthorized purchases at multiple Shrewbury locations while the card was in her possession. Damages totaled $544.29. Detective Sgt. Robert Turner is investigating the incident.
