Police: Naked Man Charged With Threatening Red Bank Cops

When a naked man allegedly started a fight at a Red Bank cleaners and threatened to kill the officer trying to arrest him, he ended up in jail.

Red Bank police were called to the scene at about 1 p.m. Aug. 12 when an allegedly nude John E. Jones, of 131 Sixth Ave., Long Branch, became belligerent and started fighting with people in the cleaners, making them feel threatened, according to the complaint warrant.

When police arrived and attempted to calm and arrest Jones, he allegedly resisted arrest by using violent physical force against the arresting officer coupled with a verbal threat to his life, the warrant added.

Jones was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest by using physical force and violence against an officer and making terroristic threats.

He was held on a total of $30,500 bail with no 10 percent option, set by Judge William Himelman.

A court date was set for Aug. 15 at 8:30 a.m. in Red Bank Municipal Court.
