Police: Armed Robbery at Route 35 Raceway Gas Station
Police are searching for suspect, who showed gun and demanded cash
The Raceway Gas Station on Route 35, just over the border of Red Bank, was the scene of an armed robbery.
According to Middletown Police Detective Lt. Stephen Dollinger, a man described as a black male, about 6 feet tall with a stocky build and a thin goatee, wearing black jeans, a black long-sleeved shirt and a yellow baseball hat entered the station around 5:40 a.m. Thursday.
He flashed a silver-colored revolver handgun and demanded cash from the attendant.
He then fled the station on foot toward the Pine Street jug handle. Police did not release how much money was taken.
An older model, light-colored, two-door Pontiac Grand Am may have been involved in the incident, police said.

Raceway is located next to Pool World on Route 35 North.
