Police: Homeless Man Charged with Burglarizing Red Bank Building


A warrant has been issued for the arrest of an area homeless man in connection with a November Red Bank burglary.

Kenneth S. Persico, 47, listed as homeless, allegedly burglarized a building at 255 Shrewsbury Ave. on Nov. 13 at about 3 p.m., stealing roughly $2,000 worth of copper pipes and $1,400 worth of water meters, according to the complaint warrant issued by Red Bank police.

Persico, according to Red Bank police records, was also arrested on Dec. 1 in the area of Evergreen Terrace and charged with defiant trespassing.

His bail for the burglary charges, according to the complaint, was set at $70,000, with no 10 percent option, by Judge William Himelman.

According to Red Bank police records, Persico had been arrested previously on burglary and criminal mischief charges on Jan. 29, 2011 and contempt of court charges in February of 2012.
