Police: Man Violated No-Contact Order, Assaulted Victim
A Red Bank man appeared in court on allegations he violated a no-contact order and assaulted his victim, police said.
A borough man appeared in court Tuesday on allegations he violated a court-issued no-contact order and assaulted his victim with a punch in the back of the head with a closed fist this past weekend.
Police said Marco Castillo-Ramos, 29, committed the act of domestic violence - simple assault against a victim identified only as S.L. in court documents Sunday night on the first block of Leighton Avenue. According to the report, Castillo-Ramos, a resident of the 100 block of Shrewsbury Ave., struck the victim with a closed fist in the back of the head, recklessly causing bodily injury.
Castillo-Ramos was also charged with violating a court order by communicating with the victim in person while knowing he wasn't supposed to.

He was ordered held at Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $5,000 cash bail.
Castillo-Ramos was previously arrested in Red Bank in January and accused of simple assault and harassment. It's unknown if the two incidents are related or if Castillo-Ramos's no-contact order stems from a previous complaint.
