Update: Police Probe Fatal Shooting in Red Bank

Police confirm a man was shot and killed in Red Bank early Wednesday morning.

Update 2:00 p.m. The unidentified victim's body was found just after 8 a.m. by a relative who went to check up on him, First Assistant Prosecutor Rich Incremona said. According to Incremona, the body was found alone in a single family dwelling. Though initially police speculated that the victim was shot sometime around midnight, Incremona said his office is waiting on an autopsy to determine time of death.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, which is being investigated by Detectives Michael Clancey of the Prosecutor's Office and Juan Sardo of the Red Bank Police Department. Those with information are asked to call 732) 530-2700.

Update 11:10 a.m. Monmouth County First Assistant Prosecutor Rich Incremona said the homicide investigation continues but that no arrests have yet been made in connection with the crime. Shortly before 11 a.m.

An unknown male was shot and killed early Wednesday morning in Red Bank, police said.

The incident is believed to have taken place in the area of 97 West Sunset Ave. in the early morning hours. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are not yet known though detectives are currently on the scene investigating.

It was not immediately clear if an arrest or arrests had been made in connection with the incident. A police officer spoken to Wednesday referred all questions to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, which handles criminal shooting deaths.

Details about the victim's identity where not immediately available, though police did say he was an adult male in his 30s.
