Police: Red Bank Man Swallowed Oxycontin to Try to Avoid Arrest

Keansburg police arrested Spring Street man Jan. 12

A Red Bank man faces drug charges after being arrested Jan. 12 by Keansburg police.

Keith Brooks Jr., 31, of Spring Street is accused of possessing oxycontin and hindering his own apprehension. 

Officers said Brooks had four blue pills believed to be oxycontin and attempted to destroy the evidence by swallowing one and attempting to swallow the rest, according to a complaint filed with Superior Court.

He was held on $7,500 bail and will make his first court appearance Thursday morning.
