Red Bank Bust Nets Heroin Haul

A month-long investigation ends with an arrest and confiscation of nine bricks of heroin.

Following a month-long investigation, the Red Bank Police Department raided a Drummond Avenue home and netted a drug arrest as well as the seizure of nine bricks of heroin.

Ronnie Simpson, 28, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled and Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Controlled and Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The value of the drug haul was not immediately known.

The investigation was the work of the police department’s Anti-Crime Unit and was headed by Det. Robert Clayton and Sgt. Michael Frazee. A K-9 unite from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.

Simpson was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution and held in lieu of $150,000 bail.
