Red Bank Man Charged With Unlicensed Gun, Resisting Arrest

Spring Street man to make first appearance in court Jan. 10

A Spring Street man will soon make his first appearance in court on weapon and resisting arrest charges.

John J. McMahon, 21, was arrested in Red Bank in the early morning hours of Dec. 28 after police said he was observed trying car doors on South Street.

After he was confronted at 2:30 a.m., police said he resisted arrest by "hiding behind a wooden fence in the bushes" and tucking his left arm under his body so as to not allow police to cuff him, according to court documents.
