Red Bank Police Arrest Borough Man on Sexual Assault Charge

Selvin Salgado-Cermeno was held on $100,000 bail.



A Red Bank man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault in connection with a Sept. 16 incident.

Red Bank police arrested Selvin Salgado-Cermeno, of 124 Catherine Street, on Sept. 16, after he allegedly forcibly committed an act of sexual penetration on a victim at a Red Bank residence, according to the complaint warrant.

Sexual assault is a second-degree crime, according to the complaint.

Salgado-Ceremeno was held on $100,000 bail, with no 10 percent option, set by Jude Honora O'Brien Kilgallen. A condition of his release is that he not return to the scene or have any contact with the victim, according to the complaint warrant.

He was slated to appear in court on Sept. 19 at 8:30 a.m.
