Report: Pedestrian Killed By Train in Red Bank

An unidentified male was struck and killed by a train in Red Bank.

An unidentified male pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in the vicinity of Maple Avenue and E. Bergen Place, according to various reports.

The accident was first reported by the Monmouth County Fire, EMS, Police and New Jersey State Police Facebook feed. The unofficial news feed, which receives its information from radio transmissions, reported the incident around 9:30 p.m.

According to the Asbury Park Press, the victim was identified by Red Bank Police Capt. Darren McConnell as male, though further information was not provided pending notification of possible family.

New Jersey Transit State Police declined to comment on the accident, instead referring questions to its public relations department.

Further circumstances of the accident were not immediately known.
