Shrewsbury Police Investigate Alleged Car Theft and Theft by Deception

Jeep reported stolen and employer reported funds taken

Shrewsbury police reported the following incidents of theft in the borough, which are currently being investigated.

• Shrewsbury police reported the theft of a 1998 green Jeep Grand Cherokee allegedly stolen from the area of Shrewsbury Avenue on May 14.

The jeep is valued at $6,000, according to police.

Patrolman Mary Ellen Jennings is investigating.

• There was also a report of a theft by deception allegedly committed on May 17 in the area of Broad Street. The victim reported that business funds in the amount of $9,215.81 were taken for personal use by an employee.

Arrests have not yet been made regarding these incidents, according to police.

* There were also two arrests reported on contempt of court charges and one on possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
