Swearing in New Red Bank Police Officers

The four were hired as probationary patrolmen.

Not only is there a new police chief in town in Red Bank, but four new officers have been sworn in to protect and serve the borough.

Cevin Albert, Sean Hauschildt, Shane Dengel and Tanner Shea on Wednesday night placed their hands on the Bible, held by police commissioner and Council President Art Murphy, and collectively took their oaths, administered by Mayor Pat Menna right after their boss, Darren McConnell, was sworn in as chief.

The four were appointed via resolution as "probationary patrolmen."

And the four "new patrolmen that just got hired" and their training are what McConnell said will be his first order of business as chief.

"We're starting a whole new field training program," the chief said. It's a three-month program. We just developed it, just instituted it for them. That's our first order — to get them up and running."

The new officers come to Red Bank from several area towns where they served as special officers.

Their hometowns are as follows: Albert is from Red Bank, Hauschildt is from Ocean Township, Dengel is from Howell and Shea is from Oceanport.

Congrats, patrolmen!
