Two Men Fought With Shards of Glass, Police Say

Two Red Bank residents were arrested and charged with assault following an early morning fracas.

Two Red Bank residents were arrested and charged with aggravated assault after police said they attempted to cause each other bodily injury with a deadly weapon during an altercation this past weekend.

The deadly weapon: shards of broken glass.

Darnell Suydam, 33, and Kevin Brinson, 35, were each arrested following an investigation into the early Saturday morning incident. According to police, both men were found to be in possession of a splintered piece of glass without appropriate lawful use.

The incident was reported just after 2 a.m. at 88B Linden Place, according to police, the listed address for both Brinson and Suydam. The report indicates that both men caused injury to each other, though the extent of those injuries was not immediately known.

Brinson and Suydam were ordered held Tuesday morning on $30,000 full cash bail and were ordered to have no victim contact.
