Woman Indicted for Allegedly Forging Drug Scripts

A local resident was indicted on allegations she used a blank prescription pad to obtain drugs throughout the Two River area.

A Lincroft woman was indicted in Monmouth County Superior Court on charges that she forged blank prescription pages to illegally obtain drugs at several pharmacies throughout the Two River area, court documents reveal.

Bernadette Prospero, 27, was indicted on 10 separate counts, including forgery, uttering a forged instrument, and obtaining a controlled and dangerous substance by fraud. Each count represents a third degree crime.

According to the indictment, between Aug. 11 and Sept. 20, 2011, Prospero forged prescription blanks to purchase drugs at separate pharmacies in Red Bank, Middletown, Rumson, Little Silver, and Keansburg.

In several alleged incidents, Prospero used phony scripts to obtain the sleep medication Ambien from pharmacies in each location. On separate occasions, Prospero used blank scripts to pick up Vico Profen in Keansburg, Tussionex syrup in Little Silver, and Lexapro in Red Bank, the indictment stated.
