Planning Board Adopts Red Bank Bike and Pedestrian Plan

The bike plan has been incorporated into the borough's master plan.

Red Bank Planning Board adopted a bicycle and pedestrian plan Monday night into the borough’s master plan designed to not only make it easier for cyclists and pedestrians to travel throughout the town, but make it safer, too.

The plan has been in development for more than a year with an official project report released earlier this year. The plan highlights various dedicated bike routes as well as safety measures, like sharrows, some of which were a month ago.

Additional improvements have also been planned.

The bike and pedestrian plan included input from the public, which was invited to attend several planning meetings along the way and pass along any suggestions and recommendations they might have had.

“I am thrilled that the planning project has been adopted as an element to the Master Plan,” Councilman and Planning Board member Ed Zipprich said. “(It’s) had significant resident input and it is important to listen to our residents and make sure their voices are head in borough hall.”
