School Elections: School Budgets Pass in Red Bank and Shrewsbury (Updated 10:14pm)

Results from Wednesday's elections.

Red Bank School District's more than $19 million budget was approved by voters Wednesday night by an unofficial count of 275-186.

In board seats, incumbents Janet Jones and Peter Noble were reelected. Newcomer Allen Palma bested Ernest Anemone.

Suzanne Viscomi was elected to an unexpired two-year seat.

More than 61 percent of voters approved Shrewsbury's school budget, according to results from the county website.

Of the 440 voters who voted in the election, 270 voted to approve the budget compared to the 170 who voted against.

For board seats, Vincent Costa, Karolanne Konefal, and John Smallwood were elected to three-year terms in the uncontested race. Patricia Hennelly was elected to a two-year term.
