State Troopers Deny Christie Helicopter Flew Over GWB During Lane Closures

Police agency's statement comes on the heels of a revelation that state investigators were looking into the governor's helicopter flight records.

New Jersey State Police said Gov. Chris Christie’s helicopter did not fly over the George Washington Bridge nor the then-gridlocked town of Fort Lee during the September 2013 lane closures widely referred to as “Bridgegate.”

None of the three helicopter flights transporting the governor during the week of Sept. 8, 2013, “flew over, or close to either the George Washington Bridge or Fort Lee, including the flight on 9/11,” a New Jersey State Police spokesman wrote in a short release to the media on Tuesday.

The state legislative committee investigating the Bridgegate scandal had been looking into the governor’s air travel records during the five-day period that Fort Lee traffic lanes were closed last year, The New York Post reported Monday.

Upon hearing of the probe, Christie’s office said the governor flew from New York City to Trenton on Sept. 11—the third day of lane closures—but declined to elaborate on the helicopter’s flight path, according to NJ.com.

A Christie spokesman also denied that former Port Authority executive David Wildstein and the governor ever shared a helicopter, The Star-Ledger reported.

The Bridgegate scandal has been a thorn in the governor's side for more than a month now, negatively impacting his approval ratings and even spurring on some opponents who are calling for his resignation.

@BellairBerdan. The jury is still out on Christie, save for the libs that had him convicted before the story even broke. When do you think Obama, a proven liar and incompetent, should leave office?
BellairBerdan February 16, 2014 at 01:13 PM
Actually Tom Maras, Christie has already been convicted of lying, had to post an apology in the newspaper and pay restitution. Quite a different history than our president. Why do you ignore such behaviour?
Tom Maras February 16, 2014 at 06:36 PM
@ BB. Please supply some supporting evidence to backup your allegations. Not saying you are another lying liberal, just cannot seem to find anything that lends credence to your claim.
Leo February 16, 2014 at 06:46 PM
lol @ Tom Tom could you please explain the republican rats either jumping ship or taking the 5th? Do you really think CC didn't know the ppl he got jobs for at the PA quit? I hope they subpoena CC phone records and e mail. Do you really think CC didn't know about the land deals in Harrison and Hoboken?
BellairBerdan February 16, 2014 at 06:50 PM
Hey Tom Maras, here ya go http://www.philly.com/philly/news/politics/nj/Washington_Post_unearths_Chris_Christies_94_political_ad_caused_a_defamation_lawsuit.html or just google Christie Libel
BellairBerdan February 16, 2014 at 07:03 PM
Hey Tom, if that one wasn't enough, remember how NJ lost the Race to the Top money? First Christie blamed Obama admin. but he didn't realize there was videotape refuting his claim. Christie then called his commissioner a liar and fired him ( sound familiar?) The commissioner provided the press emails proving that in fact Christie was the one lying. http://www.northjersey.com/news/Firing_of_Christie_aide_echoes_earlier_dismissal_of_former_education_chief_Schundler.html With a history like this, in a similar instance, why do you believe him now?
BellairBerdan February 16, 2014 at 07:10 PM
and here's one from Time http://swampland.time.com/2012/08/28/chris-christies-race-to-the-bottom/
Tom Maras February 16, 2014 at 08:43 PM
@ BB. Might your initials also stand for Bubble Brain? What the hell does a story from 2012 have to due with the alleged use of a State Police helicopter by Christie to fly over the GWB during the traffic jams? You, Leo, and the rest of the liberals that are salavating on this inane issue need to (as the Brits would say) Go Forth and Multiply!
BellairBerdan February 16, 2014 at 09:04 PM
Oh Tom Maras, how did I know you would refuse the truth? You should be ashamed of yourself. You asked 'Please supply some supporting evidence to backup your allegations. Not saying you are another lying liberal, just cannot seem to find anything that lends credence to your claim." I did. You're just another ignorant, lying, race baiting regressive. Now go away. shoo.
John Santaella February 17, 2014 at 11:01 AM
Whenever an argument cannot be sustained on it's merits use the "L" word. That settles any argument, right Tom?
Tom Maras February 17, 2014 at 12:46 PM
@John Santaella. How perceptive of you! Actually, I may be guilty of plagiarism, as stole that tactic out of the liberal's playbook! Turnabout is fair play, right Johnny!
Leo February 17, 2014 at 12:57 PM
It would appear that Tom is out of touch with reality and is living in denial. Could Tom tell us one good think CC has accomplished?
Tom Maras February 17, 2014 at 01:21 PM
Leo For starters, he beat Jon Corzine. As you only asked for "one good thing", I'll stop there. Since you libs are as annoying and as necessary as a hemorrhoid, please coat yourself with PreparationH, and do spare me anymore of your sophomoric rhetoric. Now, GO FORTH AND MULTIPLY!
BellairBerdan February 17, 2014 at 01:29 PM
Tom we are multiplying as you continue to shrink. Enjoy that thought.
John Santaella February 17, 2014 at 07:06 PM
Leo, don't forget CC posed with Obama. That was good. Would you like some tea?
Tom Maras February 18, 2014 at 07:29 AM
@BellairBerdan So nice to read you and your lot are multiplying. Suggest you Google 'Go Forth and Multiply' (Urban Dictionary) and then lets us know how you and your mates do!
Mel Sharples February 18, 2014 at 07:33 AM
Since red states are broke-ass poor and blue states are rich....I'd say it should work out very well.
BellairBerdan February 18, 2014 at 07:44 AM
Tom Maras, for a man that refuses to believe multiple sources of facts and rests his knowledge on the Urban Dictionary, you're not a very believable person.
Hank February 18, 2014 at 09:04 AM
John Santaella February 18, 2014 at 10:32 AM
Tom Maras, your attempt at condescension fails. Stick to the issue. If you have to reach for the dictionary to define multiply you're talking with the wrong crowd and have not reached the level yet to talk about political scandals. If all you can do is throw the 'L' word about you have nothing to say. The "L" word is NOT an argument. Benghazi is NOT an argument. Obama is not part of this argument. Stick to the issue at hand or go back to sleep.
Tom Maras February 18, 2014 at 09:42 PM
@ John S. The referral to the dictionary was so you lot of puzzlewit "L's" would know why I said: Go forth and multiply. Now, please carry on as suggested.
John Santaella February 18, 2014 at 10:03 PM
Hank, if it's so boring why bother commenting. Go back to watching 'Dancing With the Stars'
George Murphy February 20, 2014 at 12:19 AM
Apples A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago .. They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples. Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly-missed boarding... ALL BUT ONE!!! He paused, took a deep breath, got in touch with his feelings and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned. He told his buddies to go on without him, waved good-bye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor. He was glad he did. The 16-year-old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her; no one stopping and no one to care for her plight. The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them back on the table and helped organize her display. As he did this, he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket. When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl, "Here, please take this $40 for the damage we did. Are you okay?" She nodded through her tears. He continued on with, "I hope we didn't spoil your day too badly." As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him, "Mister...." He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes. She continued, "Are you Jesus?" He stopped in mid-stride .... and he wondered. He gently went back and said, "No, I am nothing like Jesus - He is good, kind, caring, loving, and would never have bumped into your display in the first place. "The girl gently nodded: "I only asked because I prayed for Jesus to help me gather the apples. He sent you to help me, so you are like Him - only He knows who will do His will. Thank you for hearing His call, Mister." Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his soul: "Are you Jesus?" Do people mistake you for Jesus? That's our destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love, life and grace. If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would. Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church. It's actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day . You are the apple of His eye even though you, too, have been bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked up you and me on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our damaged fruit. Please share this, (IF you feel led to do so). Sometimes we just take things for granted, when we really need to be sharing what we know....Thanks. "Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections." The nicest place to be is in someone's thoughts, the safest place to be is in someone's prayers, and the very best place to be is...in the hands of God
John Santaella February 20, 2014 at 12:37 AM
This happened at the GWB too and nobody helped.
Tom Maras February 20, 2014 at 07:45 AM
@George Murphy. Very nice Mr. Murphy, very nice indeed. You have the soul of an Irishman, to be sure. May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face. And may the winds of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars
Tom Maras February 20, 2014 at 07:50 AM
@ John Santaella Do you think Jesus send Wisniewski and his pack of salivating liberals in to mash Christie's apples or did the devil make him do it?
John Santaella February 20, 2014 at 10:47 AM
I don't give a hoot who gets the credit as long as this bully is outed. You're really hung up on the "L" word, aren't you. You're rather boring and boorish.
Ridgewood Mom February 20, 2014 at 12:30 PM
Governor Chrisus Christus. hehee ;p
John Santaella February 20, 2014 at 01:29 PM
You're a comedy writer, aren't you? That's funny.
George Murphy February 20, 2014 at 01:44 PM
Thank you Tom! I had no particular motive for posting this other than I liked it and wanted to share it with everyone. I wasn't told so, but I believe that it's a true situation. Sometimes it doesn't matter who we are, or how we think, these life experiences get us to focus away from ourselves and on to what really matters in the long haul.
