The Red Bank Regional High School CyberPatriot IV team recently finished first against 11 other teams in competition at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
CyberPatriot is a national high school cyber (computer network security) defense competition modeled after the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. It's run nationally and is in its fifth year of existence.
Team members included: Ryan McVeety, Michael Terpak, Alec Jasanovsky, Jared Katzman, Luke Matarazzo and Richard Connors along with teacher Jeremy Milonas, teacher Amanda Galante, Air Force Association NJ President Howard Leach and ex vice president of the Air Force Association, David 'Buck' Buckwalter.
The open (high school) division team and the all-service division enrollment deadline is Sep. 30 with the first two competition rounds scheduled in November and December. The final in-person all-paid competition will be held at the Air Force Association's CyberFutures Conference, at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center, National Harbor, MD, on March 14-15, 2013.
