With the Red Bank School District still tending to flooding damage sustained during Hurricane Sandy at the Red Bank Primary School, officials have unveiled a new, split schedule to accommodate borough school children beginning Monday.
According to Superintendent Laura Morana, primary school students are temporarily being relocated to Red Bank Middle School. Students from each school will share the school day.
Primary School students will receive instructional time from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Middle School students will have instruction from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Red Bank Charter School is expected to operate under its normal schedule.
Red Bank students have not attended school in two weeks since Hurricane Sandy carved a path of damage through New Jersey. Until this weekend, significant portions of Red Bank have remained without power, though Jersey Central Power and Light is reporting that most of its borough customers have gotten their power back as of Sunday afternoon.
For Off-site pre-kindergarten students, instructional time will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Instructional time pre-kindergarten head start will have a full day, though transportation will not be provided, Morana said in an email.
