The deal, made earlier this year, allows Rutgers and Pearson to split the tuition paid by students who take Pearson’s online classes, according to the report. On Wednesday, the New Brunswick campus’ graduate school faculty approved a resolution to reject the deal because they feel it give Pearson too much power and money as it relates to the program, according to the report.
Rutgers professors will be teaching the courses, and want the University to negotiate better terms, according to the report. They want to see their union involved in negotiations.
Members of the Rutgers American Association of University Professors-American Federation of Teachers will meet with University officials later this month to discuss the deal, according to the report.
