No sooner were classes in the Red Bank-Shrewsbury area in session after the holiday break then they were cancelled due to the impending snowstorm.

"All Friday classes at Red Bank Regional have been cancelled due to inclement weather," a message on the school's website says.
All afterschool athletics and activities have also been cancelled.
Red Bank elementary and middle schools ...
"All Red Bank Borough public schools will be closed Friday, January 3, due to severe weather," it says on the Red Bank Borough Public Schools website.
Shrewsbury schools ...
"Snow Day! School closed Friday, Jan. 3. All school based activities are also cancelled," the top message on the schools website says.
