Joe Trezza Resigns As Head Football Coach at Middletown HS North

Trezza will continue in his role as a teacher at the high school.

Middletown North High School Head Football Coach Joe Trezza has stepped down from his coaching position, said acting Athletic Director Nicholas Pizzulli.

"The position will be posted in the near future, and applications for the position will be reviewed," said Pizzulli.

He added that as of Friday, "we do not have any other indications that his staff is not returning."

According to Scott Stump's All Shore Media sports news site, Trezza led Middletown North to consecutive Central Jersey Group IV playoff appearances in 2008 and 2009. The coach, who has previously been an assistant coach on several state championship teams at Middletown South, compiled a record of 21-49 from 2006 to 2012. The Lions finished 2-8 this past fall.

Middletown North will not be the only high school looking for a quality football coach, Stump reported on All Shore Media. Trezza's departure marks the sixth Shore Conference coach to resign since this past season ended, and now there are job openings at Central, Pinelands, Rumson-Fair Haven, Keansburg and Marlboro high schools.

All the best to Joe Trezza and his extended family - a great Middletown family stretching way back to the Pop Warner Lions when they practiced behind Leonardo grade school in the 1960s. Best of luck to you and your next team Joe!

Really what year was he a coach with the Miami Dolphins you saying he was a HC, or what and I never been in Manalapan lived in Middletown all my life don't get to go that far west of NJ, Freehold is about as far I been. Try using the person full name next time not their last name went you said bush and mix it up with Miaim Dolphins with I thought you was talking about the RB Reggie Bush who was the RB, for the Dolphins who is now with the Detroit Lions. Oh now his name Stephen Bush with is it Steve or Stephen we all know the name Steve is a short name for Stephen. Like Mike is a Short name for Micheal or Matthew or a short name for Matt. Anyway I really don't care about High school football anymore my kids are pass that.

Jack, I never said Head Coach. I said his last position was with the Dolphins. Football teams also have asst.coaches and or sometimes called position coaches. No charge for the education lesson.
