Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R) has announced he will visit Clark on Sept. 13, to support GOP Senate candidate and former Bogota mayor Steve Lonegan in his bid for the U.S. Senate.
Paul will attend a fundraising event with Lonegan at Gran Centurions on Madison Hill Road. At 12:30, the public is invited to join in a support rally.
"I am honored that Senator Rand Paul will be coming to New Jersey to support my candidacy," said Lonegan in a release. "I look forward to his appearance here and standing with him to defend your individual liberty in the U.S. Senate."
According to the Huffington Post, Paul invited Gov. Christie, with whom he's been recently feuding, to join, but the governor declined, saying he'd be out of town.
Paul has recently stated that he is also considering a run for president in 2016.
