Thanks for a Great Night Under the Stars to Benefit The Community YMCA

It was a beautiful night under the stars at The Community YMCA’s “Grillin’ & Chillin’ for Kids” benefit on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Camp Arrowhead in Marlboro.

Y President and CEO Rhonda Anderson and co-chairs Carol Stillwell and Chris Mosley were joined by over 150 friends of the Y, board members and staff.

The highlight of the evening was recognition of local community leaders and organizations that were honored for their positive impact in Monmouth County:

·         Monmouth County Chiefs of Police Association – Hero Award, accepted by Sea Bright Police Chief John Sorrentino and Union Beach Chief Scott Woolley.

Guests were treated to savory hors d’oeuvres as they tried their hand at archery and a wine toss while Pat Guadagno entertained.  The evening included a gourmet barbeque by Merri-Makers and music from Tim McLoone & The Shirleys, silent and live auctions and a 50/50 cash raffle.

The benefit raised $124,000 to support the Y’s charitable mission to provide free and reduced program and membership fees to local children and families in need of afterschool care, youth sports, health and wellness, swim lessons, summer camp, teen leadership and counseling and social services.

Many thanks to event co-chairs Carol Stillwell, Chris Mosley and their committee for a great night to benefit children and families in our community.
