The Community YMCA Helps Needy Families Have a Happy Holiday Season

Each year, local residents and businesses are invited to join The Community YMCA in making the holidays brighter by providing gifts, toys and books for needy families in Monmouth County.

To support the Y’s holiday giving program, community members are invited to “adopt” a family or child and help provide gifts from their “wish lists.”  The families are served through the Y’s Counseling and Social Services, and the Red Bank Family Health and Wellness Center.

The Y serves over 20,000 families in Monmouth County, about 3,000 of whom receive financial assistance for Y programs and services.  Hundreds of families will benefit from this program.

“The Community YMCA is grateful for the generosity of local residents and businesses in providing holiday cheer to families in need,” said Rhonda Anderson, President and CEO of The Community YMCA.  “We are proud to bring the community together to make a difference,” she added.

Those who wish to participate will be able to choose a child or family and drop off all unwrapped gift donations at the following Y locations from now until December 16, 2013:
