A Taste of Charity in Red Bank

Separate events being held Thursday help raise money for local charitable efforts.

It’s always easy to help when a helping includes a night of drinks, food, and entertainment. This week, two events raising money for some great causes, are available in Red Bank for those looking to have a good time and help do a little of their part, too.

On Thursday, two events on opposite sides of town are being held to raise money for their respective charities and organizations, and both are providing plenty of incentive to attract visitors.

Red Bank Flavour, a marketing alliance comprised of Red Bank eateries, is hosting its first Holiday Flavour event at the . The event will feature food selections from more than 20 borough restaurants in what event planners are calling an “exquisite culinary affair.”

Guests are invited to sip and sample the wide array of delectable offerings while enjoying live music, an on-site painting exhibition, auctions, and prizes in the hotel’s ballroom overlooking the Navesink River.

Holiday Flavour is scheduled from 6 – 9 p.m. Thursday. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door. For more information about the event or to purchase tickets visit www.RedBankFlavour.com.

At the same time at , the WGIRLS Coastal NJ, a Red Bank-based non-profit that supports underprivileged women and children in Monmouth and Ocean Counties is hosting its annual Hope for the Holidays Fundraiser to raise money for the Manna House, a homeless shelter located in Cliffwood Beach.

The event, being held Thursday from 7 – 10 p.m. includes an open bar, live entertainment and dancing, door prizes and a Chinese auction featuring gift certificates, wine, gift baskets and more.

Each $45 ticket includes a three-hour open bar, a ticket for entry to win the door prize, a $100 gift certificate to an area restaurant, live entertainment, and a coupon off of a caricature provided by an artist on site. Donations of small children’s toys are also being accepted. And, if you bring a toy you get a second ticket for the door prize.
