Going Green is More Than Buying Vintage

There is something renewable about March. We expect that the cold, winter weather will abruptly come to an end, often regardless of what Mother Nature has up her sleeve. Though it is still technically winter (and the ground outside is rock hard), our thoughts are teeming with the emergence of Spring bulbs and daylight past 5pm. Any romanticism that we'd felt with hunkering down for a cold February night is long gone! And when we close our eyes, there is only one color that prevails this time of year. Green!

I'm not suggesting you run out and buy seasonal décor for a marathon of drinking games. Green is the go-to color when you want a room that's refreshing. Green represents the hope of what every Spring brings. There are so many hues of green. Shades of spring green paired with creamy white are so fresh and soothing. Green is often paired with florals, a huge trend in home décor and in Spring fashion.

Still not sold on green as a part of the color scheme in your home? Maybe you need to think less about the green crayon you colored with a an eight year old and more about these hues: mint, seafoam, jade and chartreuse. Even Kelly green has come a long way from the ivy prints of the 90's, thanks to an abundance of Hollywood Regency-style prints. (Yes, I still love ivy. Everywhere!)Haven't you ever heard the phrase "green with envy"?

Maybe it is a natural thought, with St. Patrick's Day one of the month's highlights, that we lean towards green. There is another saying that "Ireland is made up of 10,000 shades of green." Here are just a few of them.
