If you thought the annual gala Red Bank holiday lighting event last week was it for the holidays, you were mistaken.
There's another tradition in which Red Bankers participate annually. All are welcome to the West Side Tree Lighting on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. in the West Side Pocket Park at the corner of Shrewsbury Avenue and Drs. James Parker Boulevard, Councilwoman Juanita Lewis reminded all at a recent meeting.
The event, hosted by Red Bank Department of Parks and Recreation, the West Side Community Group and Lunch Break, will feature holiday song featuring the West Side Christian Academy, hot cocoa, snacks and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
But, as a prelude to that, on Friday night in Shrewsbury, there will be holiday latern tours of Shrewsbury's Historic Four Corners, courtesy of the Monmouth County Historical Association.
Four Corners is a national- and state-designated historic district which includes the historic buildings, such as the Allen House, at Broad Street and Sycamore Avenue. The tours begin at 6 and 8 p.m. and are by reservation only. Click here for more information.
