Red Bank police have arrested an area man on charges in connection with a 2012 armed robbery in town. Joshua Stepney, 28, of 60 William St., Tinton Falls, was arrested on May 2 for his part in a robbery "in the area of" 3 West Front Street on Nov. 18, 2012, according to the complaint warrant. Stepney allegedly put the robbery victim "in fear of immediate bodily injury while committing a theft," it said. That information was obtained by the co-defendant in the alleged crime while making a video statement during the investigation, according to the complaint. Stepney was held on $50,000 bail with no 10 percent option, set by Judge William Himelman.

A borough man was robbed at gunpoint by two unknown assailants on Halloween, Red Bank Police said Friday. The incident took place in the area of Oakland Street on Oct. 31, police said. The victim told police that the two suspects, one of them pointing a gun, approached him and demanded money. The victim was walking home at the time. According to police, the victim turned over his wallet, which included cash and a debit card. The victim's cell phone was also taken. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Red Bank police are investigating an apparent armed home invasion committed by as many as five men that took place on Tower Hill Drive in the early morning hours Friday. According to a release from the department, two victims arrived at police headquarters reporting that five men, at least two of whom were carrying handguns, broke into their home in the first block of Tower Hill Drive at around 2 a.m. According to their statement, the 21-year-old male victim was struck in the head with a handgun while the 20-year-old female victim was pepper sprayed and threatened with a handgun. Blue Stove Antiques was allegedly robbed at gunpoint.
The Fair Haven Police Department is investigating an armed robbery which took place this morning at 769 River Road, Blue Stove Antiques, just a short walk from Red Bank. At 9:21 a.m., a disguised subject entered the store and confronted the owner with a handgun, demanding he open the safe, police said. Once the safe was opened, the suspect emptied the contents into a gym bag and fled the scene, according to police. The suspect — described as a white male with an average build, 40 to 50 years old, standing approximatelty 5 feet, 10 inches tall and wearing a black jacket and dark pants — fled the scene with mostly jewelry and watches, police added.
