RB Police Make Assault, DWI Arrests

The following information was obtained directly from Red Bank police records. It does not indicate convictions.

   • Tanya Johnson, 27, of Red Bank was arrested on May 7 in the area of S. Pearl Street and charged with simple assault by Patrolman Jorge Torres. • Luis Fuentes-Morales,  21, of Red Bank, was arrested on May 6 in the area of Monmouth Street and charged with simple assault by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto. • Joseph Scopellite, 21, of Colts Neck, was arrested on May 5 in the area of W. Front Street and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Capt. Darren McConnell. • George Naeder, 56, of Red Bank, was arrested on May 3 in the area of Bridge Avenue and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Patrolman Ashon Lovick. * Police also arrested seven people on contempt of court charges.

Florida Man Faces Assault Charges After Riverside Gardens Park Fight

Red Bank police allege that man hit officer with closed fist

A Florida man is facing several charges, including aggravated assault on a police officer, stemming from an alleged fight in a borough park last week. Red Bank police arrested Andrew C. Collins, 28, of Orange Park, Fla., on Dec. 16 following a reported fight at Riverside Gardens Park, West Front Street. Collins “purposely and knowingly caused a public inconvenience and alarm” by engaging in a public fight at the park at 2:06 a.m., police reported in the complaint warrant. When police tried to break up the fight, they allege that Collins, who was allegedly in possession of a silver husky box cutter “that served no legitimate purpose,” resisted arrest by striking the arresting officer with a closed fist, according to the warrant.
