Car Crashes Into Tree Off Swartzel Drive in Middletown Thursday Night
The driver was extricated from the car and taken to a trauma center by helicopter.
A car hit a tree Thursday night near Swartzel Drive, off Tindall Road Thursday night around 11:30 p.m. The driver was the only occupant of the car, said Middletown First Aid & Rescue squad spokesman Bob Pfleger. The driver, a woman who was not identified, had to be extricated from the car by Middletown Township First Aid & Rescue Squad and Fairview First Aid Squad of Middletown, assisted by Belford Engine Fire Company and Belford Independent Fire Company. MONOC paramedics also responded. The extent of her injuries was not known, said Pfleger, but they were severe enough to warrant the call for a State Police medevac NorthSTAR helicopter ride to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Check again. Middletown police does patrol the parking lots at both high schools when the school are letting out. They enforce the new laws on the books about how many passengers are in the vehicle, speeding and any other laws they see being broken. If you don't believe me, call the traffic dept and check with the officer in charge.. more ›
