Eatontown parcel will be on market soon
A change to the original redevelopment plan for Fort Monmouth will allow a parcel to become a veterans' community. At its May meeting, The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) board made Fort Monmouth Parcel V1 available through the request for offers to purchase (RFOTP) process. The 10-acre parcel is located along Alexander Avenue in Eatontown and is scheduled to be built into a veterans community. The community will provide permanent housing and assistance for homeless veterans. Borough will select developer to repair and operate facility for 2013
Fort Monmouth's marina parcel has been subleased to Oceanport, which will hire a company to maintain and run it this summer. The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority approved the deal during its meeting on Wednesday night. Oceanport will solicit bids and select a company to operate the marina on a concession basis for the 2013 boating season. The company selected will also make repairs to marina. The marina's floating docks and boathouse were damaged by Hurricane Sandy last October. The marina is a 3.9-acre parcel located at Oceanport and Riverside Avenues in Oceanport. Proposals due by June 10, developers will likely be selected later this summer
The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) is receiving proposals for parcels of Fort Monmouth that will become the town centers. FMERA issued requests for offers to purchase (RFOTP) for three Fort Monmouth parcels last month; two of which will are scheduled to become town centers in Eatontown and Tinton Falls. Eatontown's Parcel B is a 55-acre tract located along the Fort’s Route 35 frontage in the Main Post’s Eatontown Reuse area. The property currently includes six 80,000-square-foot World War II-era buildings, which were last used as administrative facilities and as the home of West Point Prep. Close to 300 new homes could be built in nearby northern Tinton Falls, just over the Red Bank border, once developers are chosen to purchase two tracts of land in the borough's section of Fort Monmouth. Oceanport is in similar agreement
Eatontown has entered into an agreement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide fire services for Hurricane Sandy-displaced Fort Monmouth residents. Oceanport has also signed the same agreement to provide fire services for temporary residents on its side of the property. The New Jersey State Police will provide police services and the Monmouth Ocean Hospital Service Corporation (MONOC) MONOC will provide first aid response, Eatontown Mayor Gerald Tarantolo said. The Eatontown Council unanimously approved a resolution to enter into the agreement last month. CommVault now allowed to begin construction process
The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) and CommVault have closed on a deal that will bring the software company from Oceanport to Tinton Falls property on Fort Monmouth. Tinton Falls Mayor Michael Skudera said the deal was finalized on Tuesday afternoon and that the transfer of the property is complete. "I signed off on the final paperwork last week, the county did the same," Skudera said in an email to Patch. Skudera said CommVault is expected to start its initial site work in the next several weeks. He added that a ground-breaking ceremony will also take place in the "not too distant future." Financing an issue with healthcare facility to be located in the former Army clinic in Oceanport.
The first new ratable promised to Oceanport from inside the gates of Fort Monmouth received a tweak to its deal this week. The board of the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) unanimously approved a change the $2.7 million purchase agreement for the Paterson Health Clinic approved in September. AcuteCare Health Systems, which is affiliated with Monmouth Medical Center, will reuse the space once slated for demolition, to provide care for seniors, veterans and other patients. The Suneagles Golf Course and Gibbs Hall could be under new management this spring. Both are owned by the Army which is temporarily leasing the property to the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA), the authority that oversees the redevelopment of the fort from Army installation to civilian properties. For more than a year now Atlantic Golf has managed the Eatontown course. It subcontracts the banquet facilities management to McLoone's. The successful bidder for the contract will pay FMERA $10,000 per quarter to reimburse it for the cost of leasing it from the Army. The historic homes in Oceanport, including the general's stately quarters, are slated to be preserved.
They're not ready for the multiple listings service yet, but the historic residential properties at Fort Monmouth are one step closer to market. Wednesday fort redevelopers issued a request for offers to purchase (RFOTP) the historic housing on about 36 acres of land in Oceanport. This is the process where by developers submit their bids to buy the property. The Army is said to be applying for the area's place on the national historic registry and the land and buildings, including the row homes and the general's stately home, are to be preserved.
