The Red Bank hospital was one of several Monmouth County organizations to earn their share of more than $2 million in funding.
Riverview Medical Center was awarded $340,986 through a grant program designed to help fund the care and treatment of residents living with AIDS or HIV, State Health and Senior Services Commissioner Mary O'Dowd announced Wednesday. Funding for the Red Bank hospital will be used to provide outpatient ambulatory medical care, diagnostic testing, medical case management, nutritional counseling and mental health services for low-income area residents living with HIV or AIDS, a release from Gov. Chris Christie's office states. In all, $8.1 million in grants was given to hospitals, health centers, community organizations, and public health agencies throughout the state. Doc brings a new, minimally invasive back treatment to Red Bank hospital.
It seems as though Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank is debuting a new proceedure, state-of-the-art treatment plan, groundbreaking surgery, or never-before-seen cure every time you happen to look around. These week was no exception. According to a release from the hospital, Riverview is the first hospital in New Jersey to offer a new kind of minimally invasive back surgery called TESSEYS, which has been proven effective throughout the world. The surgery involves endoscopic access and allows surgeons to remove herniated disc tissue through an access tube that's only millimeters wide.
