RBC's Klecko Signs With Rutgers

Defensive lineman heads to Scarlet Knights after earning Defensive Player of the Year

Standout Red Bank Catholic defensive lineman Josh Klecko will take his football talents to Rutgers University in the fall. Klecko, a Colts Neck resident, is among the many highly rated prospects to choose the Scarlet Knights on National Signing Day. Klecko had a dominant season for the Casey's, posting 48 tackles and 8.5 sacks en route to being named the All-Shore Defensive Player of the Year. He helped lead RBC to a perfect 10-0 record and berth in the NJSIAA Non-Public Group 3 semifinal, where the Casey's were ousted by St. Joseph's Regional of Montvale. The defensive tackle, 6'2", 260 lbs, is the son of former All-Pro New York Jet Joe Klecko and the brother of Dan Klecko, a former Temple standout and NFL veteran.
