Obituary: Karola J. Hopkins, German Native and Shrewsbury Resident, Dies at 75
Hopkins was a mother of four and grandmother of eight.
Karola Hopkins, 75, of Shrewsbury died Saturday, Feb. 16 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Affectionately known as “Oma” by many, Karola was well known for her wonderful baking and cooking. She had a love for life, knitting and being a grandmother to her eight grandchildren in the U.S. and her native country of Germany. She is survived by her husband Peter and her children Tanja, Sonja, Dieter and Roland. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at Braun Funeral Home in Eatontown on Thursday, Feb. 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorial donation may made in Karola’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38173.
