Boondocks is back and Red Bank Art Walk takes place
There are two opening nights tonight in Red Bank — one a milestone, and the other an artsy annual event. • First, Boondocks, the Hurricane Sandy-battered al fresco seafood eatery on the Navesink River is opening its made-over deck and kitchen later this afternoon at 4 p.m. "Lobsters are here, sun is out, we are ready to go!," ownership said on the fishery's Facebook page. Check out some of the pics of the rehab in progress on the page. The place was washed away with the Sandy tide — the only in Red Bank to take the beating, due to its unfortunate on-the-river locale. There were fundraisers to get the popular small, casual place back on its feet. And today is the day. • Also tonight, from 5 to 10 p.m. is Red Bank's annual signature Art Walk…

The new event Flavour event would be held in Marine Park at the end of June.
Good food, good drinks, and Red Bank’s best view. Organizers of Red Bank Flavour’s newest culinary concept, Sippin’ on the River, think they’ve found the recipe for another successful food fair. Scheduled for the last weekend in June, the event is expected to feature gourmet food from the borough eateries, beer and wine, and a great view of the Navesink River from Marine Park. “It’s just Flavour, dude,” Bistro and Teak Co-owner and Flavour Founder George Lyristis said of the motivation to develop another foodie event. “It’s going to be an event where we can give back to the community while promoting the town like we always do.” Lyristis said the new food event was conceptualized about a year ago and has gone through the planning process …

Businesses from Red Bank, Rumson, Sea Bright, Little Silver, Long Branch and more to offer samples of their cuisine to benefit Sea Bright Rising.
There will be food and drink and dancing, of course, but this weekend when Sea Bright Rising holds its sold-out Beach Bash fundraiser at Ocean Place Resort and Spa, the main item on the menu will be a break from Sandy's wrath. "I think people are just looking for an escape, especially down there in Sea Bright, and I think that's why we sold out so quickly," said restaurateur George Lyristis. "People just want a little bit of normalcy, and we're going to give it to them and raise a little bit of money in the process." The Sea Bright Rising event is backed by Red Bank Flavour, a culinary alliance that spotlights Red Bank restaurant, bars, lounges and eateries. All are donating their food and staff, away from their businesses on what is …

The third annual event brought together food, music, beer, and thousands of eager visitors.
On a beautiful early fall day, thousands poured into the White Street parking lot to enjoy the live music, eats, and drinks of the third annual Red Bank Guinness Oyster Festival. The Red Bank restaurant consortium is nearly a year old and has continued its mission, despite challenges.
In just a few weeks it will have been a year since several downtown Red Bank restaurants, frustrated with the state of the economy, frustrated with the state of Red Bank’s stale boom-era branding, joined together to form the eatery association known as Flavour. With the goal of promoting the borough’s restaurants with a modern marketing campaign and a dedicated budget pooled directly from the wallets of the business owners, the group set off at once last September, developing their new brand while distancing themselves from Red Bank marketing and publicity efforts that didn’t fit what they believed to be the downtown’s biggest draw: its restaurants. The scene at the Molly Pitcher Inn Wednesday evening showed the culmination of the year’s …
