Red Bank-Shrewsbury Elections 2012

The details on who's running in this year's elections.

Today is the most important day of the year. Red Bank and Shrewsbury residents head to the polls today to help decide the future of their towns, their county, their state and even their country.  From municipal elections all the way to the White House, its up for grabs. For a look at who's seeking election on Red Bank and Shrewsbury's councils and the towns' respective boards of educations read on. Shrewsbury Moves School Elections

The measure was approved at a recent board meeting.

As expected, the Shrewsbury Board of Education voted to move its school board elections to November, a decision that will also allow the board to keep its school budget off the ballot if it falls within the state’s mandated 2 percent increase cap. Shrewsbury Councilman Peter Meyer made the announcement during the borough’s council meeting Monday night. The election move was approved at the board’s most recent meeting, he said. Shrewsbury is just one of several districts to have approved the election move or thrown their support behind it joining Little Silver, Red Bank Regional High School, and Red Bank.
