More Valet Parking Coming to Downtown Red Bank

With Char Steakhouse soon to open, council OKs expansion of service at Broad and Mechanic

It will soon be a bit easier to park downtown. The Red Bank Borough Council unanimously approved a resolution at its regular meeting Wednesday evening that allows for the expansion of valet parking services on Broad Street. Mayor Pat Menna said the service is being expanded to accommodate "the opening of another extraordinary place" in Red Bank with the impending addition of Char Steakhouse at the corner of Mechanic and Broad streets. The service, requested by Red Bank RiverCenter, will be from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily, according to the resolution. Council's approval allows for valet services on the east side of Broad Street from its intersection with Mechanic Street, extending 147 feet north and 95 feet south. Vehicles would be parked in …

Because we all need a place to park our Rolls... How does Red Bank justify turning half the main thoroughfare of public parking into valet parking by any other means other than greed? Valet Parking Coming to West Side

Red Bank is looking to provide parking options for visitors.

In anticipation of future parking woes facing businesses on the west side of Red Bank's downtown, the borough is bringing valet parking to Bridge Avenue. Red Bank Council discussed the move at its recent council meeting saying roadwork and housing developments soon to begin construction, such as the West Side Lofts, have the potential to make parking difficult in an already parking saturated area. Similar to the valet parking operated on Broad Street, the Bridge Avenue valet parking will be offered on Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Cars will be parked by attendants in the grass lot behind the currently unoccupied Anderson Building on the corner of Bridge Avenue and West Monmouth Street.  Borough Administrator Stanley Sickles …

Downtown Businesses Bringing Valet Parking Back

Valet service in Red Bank is coming back, though it's the businesses putting up the cash.

Valet parking will soon make its return to downtown Red Bank after debuting last year, but this time around it’s a group of business owners leading the initiative to help ease patron parking concerns and not Red Bank RiverCenter. At a recent council meeting, RiverCenter proposed a return of valet parking to the downtown, an idea that was quickly approved by mayor and council. But while the business advocate and marketing agency has promised to lend official support, the finer details of planning and funding the parking effort have fallen to the participating businesses who wanted to see valet parking make a comeback.
