Wow - that is a fascinating bit of RB history, Boris. I completely missed it. I'm going to have to turn the next week's installment into a part two.
While the street didn't become a unified Bergen, the portion named Beech is now Drs James Parker Boulevard. Does anybody have information about when the street was renamed? Feel free to email me - jacklyn.corley@patch.com

You are correct -- all seniors in Ocean County and a large section of Monmouth County are eligible to apply. We highlighted Wall High School on the Wall Patch site since that is the high school for much of the Wall Patch coverage area. Please feel free to share this information with any parents or high school seniors you think might be interested in applying.

The Feb. 3 arrest: "Daniel Picciallo, of Hazlet, was arrested on Hudson Avenue for possession of a weapon, possession of narcotics and for needlessly killing a living creature. A male juvenile, also from Hazlet, was arrested on the same charges. Ptl. Jerry Burgos and Ptl. Joseph Fabian were the arresting officers."

Per the USA Today explanation of the mascot's origin: "The mascot name was adopted when Joseph T. Casey donated his military pension to fund sports teams at Red Bank Catholic."
